#10: Closure of negotiations at COP26 with Jim Skea, Marcela Navarro, Mike Barry and Sacha Wright

Show notes

On the closure of negotiations at COP26, we are joined by Professor Jim Skea of the IPCC; Marcela Navarro, Chief Executive of Project-X; corporate sustainability expert Mike Barry; and Sacha Wright from Force of Nature who reflect on their experiences in Glasgow and consider the implications of the negotiations so far for business and civil society.

As the COP26 negotiations reach their conclusions, we ask how the private sector and civil society can show leadership in driving forward positive and practical action to meet 1.5 degrees of warming. Our commentators predict inevitable shifts for procurement and consumer engagement rules and norms, and discuss the need for partnerships and collaboration to build a new sense of trust and faith that together we can effect global systems change and catalyse the transition to a sustainable future.
